Bedroom After

Anyway you get the picture sorry it is badly presented -the internet is too slow to edit it!!!!

Moving house African style!

Just a couple of pics of the removal truck, everything arrived in one piece except the table on top which had its legs knocked off when driving under a tree-oh well!

All arrived safe and sound! (and very hot and tired from long hours on the road!!!)

doggy dramas!

We decided to get a second dog to keep the other one company and to guard the house but when faced with so many cute puppies how do you choose?!!

Welcome to Max, the newest addition to the family!!

Max hanging out at his new pad!

Hey ho away we go, donkey riding!

Someone thought it would be a good idea to discover the bush by a different means of travel to usual...donkeys!!  In theory a brilliant idea, in practice none of us managed to stay on our donkeys for the entire trek. It was good fun though despite a few bumps!

.........And of course we had an audience to watch the whole saga!

Rain in the desert

I love rainstorms here, you watch them approaching and then within minutes everywhere is flooded.......................

Doesnt make for easy driving though!

The most expensive giraffes ever seen!

ok so whilst driving up north with my sister we saw a herd of wild giraffes (the last in west Africa) by the side of the road so we stopped to take some photos and got arrested for not having a guide?! after 5 hours of slightly heated talks with the forest guard who basically wanted a $900 bribe (fat chance!) we got away with a fine and a wasted day, Brilliant. Who makes up these laws, they are ridiculous!!!! the giraffes were very beautiful though.....

Not finished yet but.......(Lucie this is for you!)

Its Rainy season at last and some friends invited us to help plant their field........

It was really hard work in 40 degree heat!!!! excuse me --- more working less posing please!

The kids soon got bored of working and decided to hunt for dinner.........ummmm after you!!!!

Poppy

And here are a couple of photos of the culprit!!!! (the dog that is...........not me) under our mango tree which produced the grand total of 2 mangoes this year.

Someone found the dog on a rubbish dump when she was just a couple of  weeks old so she is now our fierce guard dog!
Our dog woke us up at 4 am one day going "woof woof squeeel woof woof squeel" I think she found out the hard way that hedgehogs aren't good to eat! we rescued 2 in 2 nights - very cute!!!

lets start blogging!

we decided to start a blog to share with you all our African adventures! enjoy!
